My love affair with jewelry, by Elizabeth Taylor

28 June 2010 No Comment

One of the most amazing jewelry collections in one book – the Elizabeth Taylor’s one. The astonishing pieces include the 33-carat Krupp diamond, the La Peregrina pearl and some extraordinary works by Boucheron, Bulgari, Cartier, Chopard, Tiffany and many more. And here are some of my favorite examples from the book.

Suite of amethyst, kunzite and dismonds by Van Cleef & Arpels:

The Elephant series, Art Deco rock crystal, diamond and enamel pendant watch, circa 1915, by Cartier:

And the titanium, diamond, cultured pearls and ruby evening clutch, by Fred:

La Peregrina pearl in her original chain and the new amount designed by Cartier few years later:

Can’t miss the crystals, here are some designs by Gerard – rock crystals and diamonds:

Gold and ivory necklace, charmed fashion from 1987:

The stunning coral, sapphire, diamond and enamel brooch, by David Webb:

And of course… the 33-carat asscher cut Krupp diamond:

All of the above is from the Elizabeth Taylor’s book “My love affair with jewelry”, edited by Ruth Peltason, concept by Tim Mendelson, photographs by John Bigelow Taylor, design by Takaaki Matsumoto.
